Wilma Louise Smith Turner

WILMA LOUISE SMITH TURNER

On Sunday, July 18, 2021, the Lord took the gentle hand and soul of Wilma Louise Smith Turner, age 88, to lead her to the pearly gates of heaven to her forever home.  Wilma was born on October 3, 1932 to the late, Luther Smith and Martha Albertina Smith.   Wilma was married to the late, William C. Turner and resident of Dunlap, TN.    She was of the baptist faith and a member of the Baptist Hill Baptist Church in Jasper, TN.   Wilma had been employed as a "susan" at South Pittsburg Carpet Mill in South Pittsburg, TN until she retired.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William C. Turner; parents, Luther Smith and Martha Smith; son, William L. Turner; grandson, David Anthony Webb; granddaughter, Angel Turner and sister, Pauline Smith.   

Wilma leaves her precious years of memories to her daughters, Debbie (Randy) Smith, Sandy (David) Webb and Edna (John) Thomas; grandchildren, Sherry (Rodney) Anderson, Calvin (Jennifer) Smith, Whitney Thomas, Kyndall Thomas and Kyle Thomas; eight great-grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

She was a devoted Mother and Nanny to her children and grandchildren.   Wilma loved and worshipped her Lord and Savior.  Her treasures in her life were taking care of her home and her family.     Wilma had a heart of gold and was a loyal woman to everyone that crossed her path.  Her special gift of life was loving and being very humble as the woman God made her.    Ms. Wilma will be greatly missed.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home for Ms. Wilma.

The graveside service for family and friends will be held at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 1:00 pm CT with Pastor Steve Sellers officiating.

Pallbearers will be Austin Anderson, Josh Webb, Rodney Anderson, Zachery Webb, Kyle Thomas, Calvin Smith and Liam Thomas.
