WILMA “GERALDINE” BRYANT HICKS

The Lord took the gentle hand of Wilma “Geraldine” Bryant Hicks, 93, to the golden gates of heaven on Sunday, September 19, 2021.  Geraldine was from Jasper, TN.    She was born on January 14, 1928 to the late Virgil and Lena Howard Bryant.   She was married to the late Leonard Delbert Hicks, Sr.  

Geraldine had always loved being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a loyal friend.   She enjoyed cooking, loved to work in her flower gardens, working crossword puzzles and singing.   She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Valley Memorial Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Delbert Hicks, Sr.; parents, Virgil and Lena Howard Bryant; son, Leonard Delbert Hicks, Jr.; brother, Ravon Bryant; sisters, Velma Joyce Bryant, Marie Bryant, Mary Pemberton and infant baby girl and granddaughter, Deanna Forsythe.

Geraldine leaves her precious memories to her daughter, Sandra Hicks Forsythe; brothers, Jim (Vera) Bryant, Tommy Bryant and Larry Bryant; sisters, Lola Webb, Barbara Wilson, Carolyn Cooper, Rosetta (Ray) LaFleur, Tammy (Michael) Bryant Peardon, Betty Jo Green and Charlsie Chapman; grandson, Joey (Carmen) Forsythe and Jeffrey Forsythe; granddaughter, Priscilla Forsythe; great-grandchildren, Cassie Quarles, Mandi (Brian) Kaysen, Destiny Forsythe, Aleagha (Nick) Fleming, Andrew (Brittany) Forsythe, Toney Sampson; great-great grandchildren, Ezekiel Thomas, Teagan Quarles, Berklee Forsythe, Caiden Pickett and D.J. Johnson along with several nieces, nephews and years of cherished friends. 

DUE TO COVID REGULATIONS, MASK WILL BE MANDATORY WHETHER YOU HAVE UNDERLYING ISSUES OR NOT.

The family will have visitation on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 12:00 noon to 7:00 pm CST and Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 12:00 noon to 7:00 pm CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.

Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 2:00 pm CST with Pastor Gary Bone and Pastor Bryan Vann officiating.

Pallbearers are Sam Geer, Nate Bragg, Andy Forsythe, Isaiah Sampson, Danny Lee, James Myers, Tony Sampson and Michael Long.  Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Bryant and Jim Bryant.

Interment will follow the funeral service at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.
