WANDA ANGLEE BURNS

The beautiful loving soul of Wanda Anglee Burns, 80, gained her heavenly wings and was guided to the golden gates of heaven with her Lord and Savior by her side on Sunday, September 5, 2021.   Wanda was a resident of the Coppinger Cove area in Sequatchie, TN where she and her late husband, William H. Burns, Jr. lived and raised their three daughters and son.   She was born on September 29, 1940 to the late James and Tempa Taylor Hickman in Lenoir City, TN.    Wanda had been employed with the Jasper Dairy Bar as a cook and server before retiring.    

Wanda was a wife and mother who loved her family with a fierce and generous heart.  She was quick to laugh and always ready to smile or give words of encouragement.  She was a precious soul who never shied away from a problem or obstacle and was an inspiration to anyone who knew her.   Wanda’s heart of loving and giving will be missed by each soul that crossed her path.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William H. Burns, Jr.; parents, James and Tempa Taylor Hickman; son-in-law, John E. Jones; sister, Dixie Nicholson; grandson, Lawrence M. Godsby and great-granddaughter, Chloe A. Carter.

Wanda leaves her love to her daughters, Cathy Jones, Connie (Charlie) Schaerer and Charlene (Terry) McNany; son, Michael Burns; sister, June Roberts; grandchildren, Vanessa Keel, Justin Carter, Michael Burns, Jr., Jayme Burns, Brandee Burns and Austin Jones; a host of loving great-grandchildren; nieces, Tempa A. Long and Patricia Quarles and years of loyal friends.

At this time the family will not be having visitation or graveside service.  Wanda will be laid to rest at a later time in a private ceremony with her family.
