TAMMIE SHURELLA "GRANNY RELL" WALKER

On the eve of July 6, 2021, the Lord took the sweet hand of Tammie Shurella Walker to guide her through the heavenly gates to her forever home.   Granny Rell was 59 years old and a resident of South Pittsburg, TN.  She was of the Baptist faith and loved her Lord, her family, grandchildren and friends.    Granny Rell was born on June 29, 1962 to the late, Sam Green and Evelyn Walker.  

She is preceded in death by her father, Sam Green; mother, Evelyn Walker and brother, Hugh S. Green.

Granny Rell leaves her memories to her son, Eddie (Lori) D. Moore; daughters, Vanessa M. Moore; Michelle E. Moore and Nikkie N. Walker; twelve grandchildren, A'Kurya N. Jones, Celentria D. Moore, Michael T. Butler, Corshell L. Bush, Nicholas D. Walker, Coreyunna L. Peoples, Jamie D. Walker, Nakia S. Walker, Alana B. Hardy, Eddie G. Moore, Christina M. Moore and Gensis U. Walker along with her last living extended family member, Aunt Phyllis Moore.

Tammie Walker, also affectionately known to most people as Shurell and “Granny Rell,” spent the majority of her life in Marion County, TN where she raised her four children and some of her grandchildren.  She is known for her loving heart and willingness to help anyone in need.  “Granny Rell” was a woman who loved to have a good time and be the life of the party. In 2020, she amassed over 5 million views on social media where she showed the world she could dance with the “young folks” and have a good time.  She was also well known for her “artistic ability” to let you know exactly how she felt about you and anyone else in her vicinity.  Granny Rell was loved by many and will be missed by every heart she touched.

The family will have visitation on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon pm CT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.

The "Celebration of Life" for Granny Rell will follow the visitation at 12:00 noon pm CT in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home.   

Granny Rell will be laid to rest following the funeral service at Anderson Cemetery in Jasper, TN. 
 

Pallbearers will be Billy Hurd, Harold Cobb, Vincent Pickett, Glenn (Kokie) Pryor, Edward Cobb and John D. Moore, Jr.  Honorary pallbearers are Robert McMillian, Billy Pickett, Charles A. Malone and Eddie (Boochie) Moore and Leslie C. Hill.
