SHIRLEY LEES THOMAS

Shirley Lees Thomas, 80, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 30, 2023.  She was born to the late Samson Lees and Margaret Elizabeth Batey Lees on July 9, 1942.  Shirley was married to the late John F. Thomas and worked as a Hostess for 5 Star Food Service.  She was a member of Straightway Baptist Church.  Shirley would buy toys all year long and donate them at Christmas, which was her favorite time of year.  She enjoyed cooking and baking cakes.  Shirley loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and loved her cat, Pinky.

Shirley is preceded in death by her father, Samson Lees; mother, Margaret Elizabeth Batey Lees and husband John F. Thomas.

Left to cherish her memories are sons, Gary Allen (Teresa) Johnston, Steven Andrew Johnston; grandchildren, Gary Allen Johnston II and Destiny Harvey.

Visitation is Thursday, May 4, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm CST (3:00 to 5:00 pm EST) at Tate Funeral Home, in Jasper, Tennessee.

Funeral services are Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 4:00 pm CST (5:00 pm EST) in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home, in Jasper, Tennessee with Pastor Gary Bone officiating.

Burial is Thursday, May 4, 2023, at New Hope Cemetery, in New Hope, Tennessee immediately following the funeral service.

Pallbearers are Raymond Howard, Brent Smith, Jerry Townson, Gary Johnston and Noah Bone.
