ROY "JOE" DUGGER, III
The Lord called Roy “Joe” Dugger, III, to his heavenly home on Friday, January 8, 2021. Joe, as all knew him as, was 75 years old and lived in South Pittsburg, TN with his wife, Ernestine. He had service in the United States Army as an E-5. He was also a member of the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard. Joe had been employed with Tennessee Valley Authority as a machinist over 25 years. He was born on February 27, 1945 to Roy Joseph and Dorothy Dugger, II. Joe was of the Baptist faith and a very active member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in New Hope, TN. He loved serving his Lord and savior.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Joseph Dugger, II and Dorothy Throm Knight and sister, Monia Burnette.
He leaves his memories to his wife of 33 years, Ernestine Lowery Dugger; son, Johnny Dugger; daughter, Stacy Havron; brother, Ed (Carlene) Dugger; mother-in-law, Willie Mae Lowery; grandchildren, Erica and Cody Dugger and Alexis (Justen) Cuzzort; great-grandson, Zayne Cuzzort along with several nieces, nephews, beloved friends and his pride and joy, his cat Christmas and dog Shawnu.
Joe had a heart of gold for loving his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandson. He was known for being an excellent “fixer upper” and loved collecting stuff that he could repair. Joe never met a stranger and he cherished every friend he met along his pathway of life. In his pastime, Joe enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing.
The family will have a graveside service on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm CT at New Hope Cemetery, Pine Grove Road, New Hope, TN, with Pastor Johnny Jones officiating and Military Honors Ceremony conducted by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting all donations be made to the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard in Joe’s memory. Donations may be mailed to the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard, P.O. Box 286, Jasper, TN 37347.
