RICHARD BARRY NELSON

On March 2, 2022, the Lord guided Richard Barry Nelson, 70, to the pearly gates of heaven.  Richard was a resident of Dunlap, TN.   He was married to Patricia Heintzelmen Nelson.  Richard was born on January 8, 1952, to the late, Doris Gilliam Nelson and Philip I. Nelson.   

Richard loved and adored his family along with hunting and fishing.   He enjoyed classic muscle cars; NASCAR #48, #3 and #43.   He had a love for country music however his favorite music group was Alabama.  Richard loved to travel to Fort Payne, AL to browse in their gift shop. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Gilliam Nelson.

Richard leaves his memories to his wife, Patricia Heintzelmen Nelson; father, Philip I. Nelson; son, Philip E. Nelson; daughter, Dawn (Roger) Elliott and step-daughter, Christine Porter; brothers, Bill Nelson and Randy (Cheryl) Nelson; sisters, Debbie (Keith) Fiaschetti and Sandy Nelson; grandchildren, Ryan and Jacob Elliott and Brenden Porter; nieces and nephews, Nicole McBay, Tyler Sentementes;  Brandon Nelson, Jenny Pratt, Kyle Fiaschetti, Cheryl Ledford and Cindy Reeves.

The family will have visitation on Monday, March 7, 2022, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.

Memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home at 2:00 pm CST following the visitation on Monday with Pastor David Berry officiating.
