REVEREND JAMES "RAB" RAMSEY

Reverend James “Rab” Ramsey, 77, of Whitwell, TN went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at 2:22 p.m. He was the founding pastor of the Mineral Springs Church of God in Whitwell, TN, serving as pastor for the past 40 years. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter J.C. and Genevieve (Morrison) Ramsey; brothers, Wayne, David, and Paul Ramsey, and sister, Louise Ramsey (all were from Whitwell, TN).

Those left to cherish his memories are his devoted wife of 56 years, Louise (Anderson) Ramsey; his sons, Doug (Kim) Ramsey and Adam (Alisha) Ramsey; daughter, Tina Ramsey. His grandchildren, Brett Ramsey, Heath Ramsey, Corey (Katie)Blevins, Carter West, Sarah and Kaelli Ramsey. His great grandchildren, Owen, Brayson, and Tucker Ramsey and Jennavive Blevins. His brother, Jack Ramsey along with several nieces and nephews. 

Rab loved animals of all sorts, especially raising and caring for Tennessee Walking Horses.   His passion was unmatched when it came to his love for our Lord Jesus Christ, family, and community. 

Due to the Covid-19 Regulations, there will be no public visitation at Tate Funeral Home.  The family has asked that due to the limited occupancy, the immediate family will only be attendance.  They  appreciate you following the CDC guidelines established. 

There will be a private graveside service held on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at 2:00 pm CDT at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN with Reverend Calvin Nunley officiating.

The family will host a “Memorial Service” to honor Rab at his church, Mineral Springs Church of God at a later date.  The date and time will be announced by the family when scheduled.
