PAUL J. JOLICOEUR
Paul J. Jolicoeur, 75, originally from Moosonee, Canada and a decorated Marine Captain of over twenty years passed away peacefully at his home in Sewanee, Tennessee on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. On November 26, 1947, he was born to the late Paul Oliver Jolicoeur and Mary Ellen (Helen) Jolicoeur. Paul was married to Susan Slack Jolicoeur. He enjoyed boat rides, cook outs, traveling, family, friends, telling of his travels and adventures and spending time with his wife Susan Jolicoeur. Some of his military honors include Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation (3D Award), Navy Unit Commendation (4th award), Good Conduct Medal (2D award), Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation Gallantry Cross Medal and Humanitarian Service Medal (3D award) along with several other awards and medals not listed.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Paul Oliver Jolicoeur; mother, Mary Ellen (Helen) Jolicoeur and his son, Paul Mervin Jolicoeur.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Susan Jolicoeur; daughters, Dawn Patricia Jolicoeur, Aimee Lynn Johns; stepson, Joshua Jeremiah Thompson; stepdaughters, Kelli Burger, Julie Hackney; brother, Michael Joseph Jolicoeur; several step grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family whom he loved very much. Paul also left many pets that he loved as well.
The family will hold a memorial service on Monday, November 20, 2023, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.
Paul will be laid to rest at the Chattanooga National Cemetery 1200 Bailey Avenue, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37404 on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 1:30 pm CST. Military Honors will be given at the cemetery.
