Patsy Quarles Obituary

PATSY WEBB QUARLES

Patsy Webb Quarles, 88 of Jasper, Tennessee left this world to enjoy heaven on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.  She was born in Jasper, Tennessee on July 27, 1934 to the late George Webb and Prassie Collins Webb. Patsy was their only daughter out of six children. She lost her father at an early age, but always remembered helping him when he was sick.  After her father passed, she continued being the helper in her family.  She helped her mother with washing to earn money, helped take care of her brothers and worked at a restaurant in her teenage years.  Being a waitress was always her favorite job.  She went to Marion County High School and graduated with the class of 1952 where she played basketball and was a cheerleader.  Not long after graduating she married Jack Quarles and they enjoyed fifty-six years together.  She worked as a telephone operator at Southern Bell, later becoming Bell South.  On trips around Chattanooga, she would still remember addresses called in and requested.  Together, she and Jack had four children, Debra, Jackie Ann, Jeff, and Jerri.  She enjoyed her family and even when she was working split shift, she would walk to Loveman’s to buy them something special.  Eventually she retired from the telephone company.  During her retirement, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren, Shannon, Brandon, Brett, Tyler and Alex.  She also loved to go out for a ride, it didn’t matter where, as long as she got to go.  She loved to go look for antiques or look for a bargain.  She knew one day she would find a hidden gem like on Antiques Road Show.  Patsy always found the simple pleasures that could bring her joy, whether it was pretty flowers or a vanilla ice cream cone.  She didn’t love to cook, but if you came to her house, you would not go hungry.  Her whole life, she made sure those she loved were taken care of.  She showed others that she cared for and loved them and always enjoyed birthdays, because you got cake.  She always wanted to have many more.

Patsy is preceded in death by her father, George Webb; mother, Prassie Collins Webb; husband, Jack Quarles; daughter, Jackie Ann Quarles; brothers, George, John, James, Cleston and Charles Edward Webb.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Allan Jeffrey Quarles; daughters, Debra (Steve) Bennett, Jerri (Rusty) Boldin; brother-in-law, Jimmy (JoAnn) Renegar; sister-in-laws, Janis Webb and Jill Greene; grandchildren, Shannon (Jeremy Thompson) Bennett, Brandon Quarles, Brett Boldin, Tyler Boldin, Alex Boldin.
