Nathan "Eric" Turney

NATHAN “ERIC” TURNEY, 47 of Winchester, TN, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.  Eric was born on March 9, 1974, to Jim Turney and Carolyn Dawson Turney.  Eric was of the Church of God faith. Eric loved spending time outdoors especially hiking.  One of his favorite places to hike was Foster Falls. He was an adrenaline junkie.  He loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending quality time with them.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gilbert Turney and Effie Hudson Turney; maternal grandparents, Clyde Dawson and Berthaline Haggard Dawson.

Eric leaves his memories to parents, Jim Turney and Carolyn Dawson Turney; son, Seth Turney; daughter, Kayley Turney; mother of his children, Paula Turney; his fiancé Savannah Grider and her children McKenzy Jackson and Gabby Grider.

The family will have visitation on Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm CST at Tate Funeral Home.  Visitation will also be held on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm CST at Kimball Tabernacle of Praise.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 3:00 pm CST at Kimball Tabernacle of Praise with Pastor Darrell Nunley officiating the service.

Pallbearers are Jeff Blizard, Fred Newcom, Travis Carter, Adam Dawson, Travis Reed, and Oscar Noriega.  Honorary Pallbearers are Eric’s many cousins.

Interment will follow the funeral service at Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper, TN.
