MARY DEAN TATE

Mary Dean Tate, 74, entered the gates of heaven on Tuesday, August 10, 2021.   She was married to Bill Tate for 55 years and they had lived in Jasper, TN since 1975.   Dean was of the Baptist faith and a member of the First Baptist Church in Jasper, TN.  She was born on February 17, 1947, to the late Ivan Ward and Nora Lee Gregory Ward.   Before retiring, she had been the manager of Goody’s Department store in Kimball, TN.

Dean loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren along with being a lady that never met a stranger.   In her past time, Dean enjoyed traveling around the world and pampering and spoiling her pets.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Nora Ward and sister, Kay Zimmerman.

Dean leaves her memories to her husband, Bill Tate; son, Matt (Kathy) Tate; daughter, Jennifer (David) Bledsoe; brother, Wayne Ward; sisters, Lee Dennis, Barbara (James) Vaught, Teresa (Kim) Brand and Alisa Chambers; grandchildren, Blake and Briley Bledsoe along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will have visitation on Thursday, August 12, 2021, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm CST and Friday, August 13, 2021, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.

The funeral service will be held following the visitation on Friday, August 13, 2021, at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Steele officiating.

Dean will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper, TN following the funeral service.
