MARTY EUGENE ANDERSON, JR.

Marty Eugene Anderson, Jr., at the age of 62 years old, left his earthly home to join his Lord and loved ones at his heavenly home on November 30, 2020.     Marty was a lifetime resident of South Pittsburg and was born on April 13, 1958 to his parents, Marty Anderson, Sr. and Emma Owens Anderson.   He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Pine Set Baptist Church in Battle Creek, TN. 

He had been self-employed as a mechanic for almost 45 years.   During his younger years, Marty was known as a skilled dirt track racer and drag racer in his car “Nightshift”. 

 Marty loved his Jesus Christ, his children and most of all his beautiful grandchildren.  Marty was also one of the greatest fans to the Tennessee Volunteers.  When you saw him you knew his love because he always sported a “Go Big Orange” shirt and hat along with his overalls.   He spent his pastime in tinkering with mechanical objects such as cars, trucks, boats, 4-wheelers and anything else his hands could repair.    Marty had a loving spirit, you never saw him without a smile on his face, he loved life and everyone loved him dearly.  He had the talent to always leaving love in your heart and turning any bad day into an amazing day.

Marty is preceded in death by his parents, Marty E. Anderson, Sr. and Emma Jane Owens Anderson. 

He leaves his memories with his son, Brian (Gina) Anderson; daughters, Natalie (Randy) Parrish and Jessica Anderson; second mom, Barbara Anderson; brothers, Gene (Pat) McCallie, Jimmy (Patsy) Anderson, Gary (Mandy) Anderson, and Matt (Melissa) Anderson; sisters, Elaine (Paul) Duke and Melissa (Donald) Ables; grandchildren, Alissa Parrish, Cloey Parrish, Vince Anderson and Christopher Anderson along with beloved uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  

The family will have visitation on Saturday, December 5, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm CT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.

There will be a graveside service held on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at 1:00 pm CT at Gilliam Cemetery in Battle Creek, TN with Pastor Eddie Meeks officiating.  

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Anderson, Gene McCallie, Gary Anderson, Randy Parrish, Matt Anderson, Billy Sparkman, Randy McCallie, Richard Haggard and Shawn Tate.
