Mable Bishop Chism

MABLE BISHOP CHISM, 87 of South Pittsburg, TN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 19, 2021.  Mable was the daughter of the late Tom C. Bishop and Annie Vaughn Bishop.  Mable was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Midway Baptist Church of South Pittsburg.  Mable was an avid shopper and loved finding the best bargains.  She loved her family especially her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom C. Bishop and Annie Vaughn Bishop; brother, Glen Bishop; sister, Ruth Payne; and grandchild, Brandon Muir.

Mable leaves her memories to her husband of sixty-five years, Earnest Ray Chism; daughter, Penney (Darrin) Carey; sisters, Peggy (Thomas) Crye, Joann Ghrist, and Lillian Trotter; grandchildren, April (Chad) Ballard, and TJ Moon; great grandchildren, William D. Muir, Katlyn Whited, Katelyn Ballard, and Jacob Moon; great-great grandchildren, Makinlee and Indie Muir.

The family will have visitation on Sunday, November 21, 2021, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm CST at Tate Funeral Home.  Visitation will also be on Monday, November 22, 2021, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm CST.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021, at 1:00 pm CST in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Richardson officiating the service.

Pallbearers are William D. Muir, Bill Muir, Chad Ballard, Tyson Hart, TJ Moon, and Ernie Whited. Honorary pallbearer is Edd McCloud.

Interment will follow the funeral service at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.
