LULA (LOU) B. CHAMBERS MINES

Lula (Lou) B. Chambers Mines at the age of 80 years young, gained her heavenly wings on December 15, 2019 at her home in Jasper, TN.   With the angels singing and as she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and other loved ones, Lou said her final goodbye after a lengthy battle with cancer.  

She worked at Tri County Hospital for 28 years before retiring.  Lou was also a member of the local Jasper Chapter #124 Order of the Eastern Star.

Lou was born and raised in Jasper, TN.   She married Kenneth F. Mines and they raised their five children in this community.    Lou was a woman of beauty, heartfelt love and a treasure to whom knew her.    Her Baptist faith kept her strong in raising her children and grandchildren.   Lou’s pastimes were spending time with her family, reading, cooking, enjoying her “black coffee” and cherishing the times sitting on her front porch watching the changes of the weather and wildlife.    Her gifts of love never went unnoticed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth F. Mines; parents, John and Lillian Chambers; uncle and aunt, Jake and Lucille Chambers.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Jeff Mines (Sandy), Jasper, TN; Pamela Mines, Chickamauga, GA; Steve Mines (Amy), Tracy City; Lois Evans (Scott), Jasper, TN and Kristy Lou Henderson, Kimball, TN; sister, Lois Erickson, Soddy Daisy, TN; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm CT and Wednesday, December 18, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm CT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.

The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 2:00 pm CT with Pastor Ronnie Case officiating.

Lou will be laid to rest at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.
