LORRAINE B. THOMAS

Lorraine B. Thomas, 94, of South Pittsburg Tennessee. was called home, Saturday, July 15, 2023. She was born to the late Frederick O’Neill and Bertha Perry on June 3, 1929. She graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in 1951, where she led the Nurses choir. When she moved to Tennessee, she worked night shift at South Pittsburg Hospital. She was the Assistant Director of Nursing at Rivermont (The Bridge) for ten years and trained so many CNA’s, who later became nurses. She loved gardening, was a great storyteller. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren. Lorraine was a loving mother, grandmother and a very happy person. She had patience of Job. She also enjoyed all the family gatherings. Music was very important to her, and she loved playing the piano.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her father, Frederick O’Neill; mother, Bertha Perry; brothers, Larry O’Neill, Vernon O’Neill.

She leaves her memories to her sons, William F. (Billie Jean) Thomas, Danial J. Thomas; daughters, Rosemarie L. Thomas, Lady Rebecca L. Thomas of Rous, Patricia A. Pouncey, Judith E. (Stephen) Daley; sisters, Sister Mary Julie O’Neill, BVM, Eleanor Fesunoff; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private burial.
