The Lord called Lillie Mae Nelson Coffelt, at the age of 85 years old, to her heavenly home on Monday, March 1, 2021. She was a resident of South Pittsburg, TN and of the Church of God faith. Lillie was born on February 14, 1936 to her parents Marshall and Sarah Nelson. Lillie had been married to the late Wayne Coffelt. She had been employed for many years at South Pittsburg Knitting Mill as a knitter.
Lillie loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In her pastime she enjoyed bird watching and was a collector of sentimental items. She also enjoyed the beauty of beautiful flowers.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Coffelt; her parents, Marshall and Sarah Dawson Nelson; daughter, Darlene Haggard; brothers, John Nelson and Charles Nelson; sisters, Mildred Carson and Mary Cartwright; and grandson’s, Dillon Creek, Clay Haggard and Matthew Coffelt.
Lillie leaves her beloved memories to her sons, Alvin “Ricky” (Rhonda) Haggard, Marty Coffelt and David (Lisa) Coffelt; daughters, Marlene (Bobby) Jordan, Carol (Carl) Coffman, Gail (Robert) Kortz, Lisa (Johnny) Haggard, Tracy (Jack) Haggard; brother, Marshall “Bug” Nelson; sisters, Martha Miller, Emma McDonald and Sue Roberts; twenty nine (29) grandchildren; fifty one (51) great-grandchildren and sixteen (16) great-great grandchildren; special friend, Julie Constantine along with several nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Fourteen of the grandchildren are Destiny Lancaster, Jonathon Watts, Chasity Sweetie, Keagan James, Curtis Creek, Ashley Jackson, Jennifer Minnfeild, Ashley Kortz, Tyler Kortz, Jonathan Coffman, Dewayne Coffman, Brian Coffman, Derek VanAllman, Brittany VanAllman, Lynell Cooper and Jeffery Rich.
The family will have visitation on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm ct at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.
Graveside service to follow at 4:00 pm ct at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN with Pastor Dewayne Coffman and Pastor Cody Clay officiating.
Pallbearers are Jonathon Coffman, Brian Coffman, Curtis Creek, Christopher Jordan, Dwight Miller and Trevor Coffman.
