Joyce Roberts Fowler

On August 7, 2019, Joyce Roberts Fowler was called home to be with the Lord at the age of 75 years young.

Joyce was born on July 12, 1944 in Miami, Florida, before making her final home in Whitwell, Tennessee.  She was an active member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church, an avid participant in Marion County athletics and a volunteer to local charitable organizations.

Above all else, Joyce was a devoted wife of 52 years to Ray Fowler, a loving mother and grandmother, a loyal sister and friend to all she shared her life with.  She will be remembered for her compassion towards others, humorous outlook on life and most importantly her unwavering faith. 

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde K. and Dorothy F. Roberts; brother, Kenneth Roberts; grandson, Blake Fowler and nephews, Christopher Weindrop and Pat Weindrop, Jr.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Ray Fowler, Jr.; sons, Mike Fowler, Jim Fowler (Amy), Ray Fowler, III (Meredith), and Jeff Fowler; daughter, Kelli Fowler; sister, Kimberly R. Weindrop (Pat); sister-in-law, Barbara Roberts; grandchildren, Alisha Ramsey (Adam), Shawna Bond, Hunter, Addie, Will, Ray IV, Katelyn, Gracie, Alex, Hayden and Chelsea Fowler; great-grandchildren, Sarah and Kaelli Ramsey and Olivia Smith along with many nieces, nephews and special friends.

The family will have visitation on Friday, August 9th, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm CDT and Saturday, August 10th, 2019 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.

Pallbearers will be Ray Fowler, IV, Alex Fowler, Hayden Fowler, Adam Ramsey, Caleb Smith, and Gavin Hubbard.  Honorary Pallbearers are Shane Thomasson, Henry Jordan and Dee Hale. 

The funeral service will be conducted in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home on Saturday, August 10th, 2019 at 2:00 pm CDT with Pastor Thomas Long and Pastor Michael Ake officiating.

Joyce will be laid to rest at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tennessee following the funeral service.
