JOHNNY  JAY “BAD EYE” G. EVANS

Johnny Jay “Bad Eye” G. Evans, 85 years old, was called to his heavenly home on August 6, 2020 with his family at his side.   Jay was born on March 8, 1935 to Green and Zada Avans.    He was a resident of Jasper, TN.  Jay was the owner and operator of Evans Trucking in Jasper, TN.

Jay was known for his love and dedication of being a truck driver.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles, cruising the roads and hanging out at the local restaurants with his fellow friends.    Jay’s true love was spending quality time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Green and Zada Avans; son, Johnny Avans; daughter, Carol Avans; sister, Mary Elizabeth Avans and stepson, Doyle Rust.

Those left to cherish Jay's memories are his significant other of 36 years, Jeraldine Allen; sons, Ray Avans and Mike Rust; daughters, Karen (Danny) Phillips and Lisa Rust; sisters, Agnes (Dudley) Rector, Irene Ledford and Eloise (Patrick) Hood along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and loyal friends.

The family will have a graveside service on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 11:00 am CDT at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN with Junior Guy officiating.

Pallbearers are Jason Hood, Joshua Rust, Mike Kemp, Hunter Higdon and Jon Pellam.  

Honorary Pallbearers are Kenneth Evans, the late Millard Turner, Steve Tate, Donald Crawford, Lanny Graham, Ronnie Skiles, Steve Skiles, Ronnie Kerr and George Ray.
 
 

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations to be made to a charity of your choice in “Memory of Johnny Jay “Bad Eye” Evans”.
