JOHN ARTHUR “CHIEF” BARNES

John Arthur “Chief” Barnes, 57, of Jasper, Tennessee, walked through the gates of Heaven on Friday, September 2, 2022.   On April 13, 1965, he was born to the late Tom Cecil Barnes and Mary Katherine Hall Barnes.  He was married to Kim Ann Lawhorne.  John was an iron worker and worked with the Iron Workers Union #704 for 30 plus years.  He was a Christian and had a backyard ministry that was mission possible.  John helped the lives of many children and was always ministering to anyone he came into contact with.  He loved doing woodwork and was building a large playground in his backyard for the kids.  He loved Alabama football.

John is preceded in death by his father, Tom Cecil Barnes and mother, Mary Katherine Hall Barnes.

He leaves his memories and legacy to his wife, Kimberly Ann Lawhorne Barnes; sons, Derek (Ottavia) Barnes, Devin (Tiffany) Barnes, Isaiah Barnes, Jacob Barnes; daughters, Shannon Lawhorne, Chloe Barnes; brother, Skipper (Kathy) Barnes; sister, Susan Simcox and eleven grandchildren.

There will be a private Memorial Service at a later date.
