Joe Vernon Elledge, 63, of Whitwell, Tn., passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tn.

Joe loved spending time with his children, grand-children and family.  He worked in the coal mines for Tennessee Consolidated for many years.  He loved working and staying busy outside and could do miraculous things with a tractor.  He loved to farm and loved hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Josephine Rector Elledge; brothers, Franklin and Carl Elledge.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Clara Nunley Elledge; sons, Justin (Morgan) Elledge, Willie (Sandra) Elledge and Robert (Shannon) Elledge; Brother, Alvin (Janie) Elledge; sisters, Linda, Brenda Gail, Norma and Wilma. Grandchildren; Adrianna, Colby, Connor, Joseph, Braylee and Harper. Several nieces and nephews.  

Visitation will be held graveside at Griffith Creek Cemetery Monday, August 3, 2020 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm CDT with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm CDT with Brother Joe Sanders officiating.

Interment will follow at Griffith Creek Cemetery in Whitwell, Tn.
