JOBYNA “JODY” RAULSTON DAVIDSON ABLES

As the angels sang, the Lord took the sweet hand of Jobyna “Jody” Raulston Davidson Ables to lead her to the pearly gates of heaven on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.   Jody was 93 years old and a lifelong resident of Jasper, TN.   She had been married to the late George Ables, Sr. and had cherished being a loving wife, mother and devoted grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Her greatest joy were her children.  She was born on April 17, 1928, to the late, Grover and Florence Davidson.

Jody was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of Ebenezer Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  Jody was an avid shopper, she enjoyed crocheting, loved the time fishing, gardening, along with being a collector of many things that crossed her path.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Ables, Sr.; parents, Grover and Florence Snow Davidson; daughter, Connie Ables and grandson; Christopher Ables; brothers, Paul, Grover, Tommy, Floyd, Earl, James, Harold and Bob Davidson and sister, Geneva Brumlow.

Jody leaves her memories to her sons, George (Pat) Ables, Jr. and Randy (Regina) Ables; daughter, Karen (Jimmy) Quarles; grandchildren, Nathan (Mandy) Ables, Brandon (Heidi) Ables, Jeremy (Dawn) Quarles, Josh Quarles, Kim (Adam) Brown, Chad (Jenny) Ables and Corey (Nikki) Ables along with years of cherished friends.

The family will have visitation on Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022, at 11:00 am CST at Hooper Cemetery in Whitwell, TN with Pastor Phillip Layne officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Quarles, Josh Quarles, Nathan Ables, Brandon Ables, Chad Ables and Corey Ables.
