JERRY “BUDDY” D. HICKS

After a lengthy illness, the Lord took Jerry “Buddy” D. Hicks home at the age of 83 years old.   Buddy, as he best known as, was from Guild, TN.   He was of the Baptist faith.    Buddy was a truck driver for Hood Enterprise until his retirement. 

He was an amazing son, brother, husband, grandfather, and friend.  Buddy will be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends.   He was fun loving, enjoyed life and you never saw him without a smile on his face.   Buddy had a heart that gave until his last breath along with caring for everyone that crossed his path.    

Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Sadie Estell Hicks; brother, John Hicks; sisters, Bessie McNeese, Mary Daniel, Judy Vaughn and son, Michael Hicks.

Those left to carry on Buddy’s legacy is his wife, Grace Marie Hicks; sons, Bo (Dewana) Hicks and Donald Hicks; daughters, Carolyn (Jim) Henry and Mariah Hicks; sister, Martha (MG) Bailey; grandchildren, William Curtis Hicks, Buddy Allen Hicks, Donald Eugene Hicks, Justin Ray Hicks, Brandon Hicks, Shaun Hicks, Jacklyn Black and Ashley Bailey, along with several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

The family will have visitation on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.

The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 1:00 pm CST with Roger Webb officiating.

Buddy will be laid to rest at Layne Chapel Cemetery in Whitwell, TN following the funeral service.
