JEAN MINTER MATTHEWS

Jean Minter Matthews left her earthly home and entered the heavenly gates on Friday, August 14, 2020.     She was 80 years old and from Jasper, TN.   Jean attended many years at Marion County High School and graduated from Bridgeport High School.   Jean had worked for Tennessee Valley Authority in the Human Resource Department for over 30 years before she retired.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jasper, TN.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Lemma Minter.

Those left to cherish Jean’s memories are her son, Jeff Matthews of (South Pittsburg, TN; Donna (Jeff) Mullins of Macon, GA; brother, Mike (Wilma) Minter (Jasper); sisters, Shirley Barnette (Maryland), Nancy Grider (Jasper) and Mary (Steve) Looney (Jasper) along with many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private visitation for family on Sunday, August 16, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN following the visitation at 1:00 pm CST with Pastor Barry Grider officiating.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Pallbearers will be Roger Grider, Tracy Grider, Robbie Barnette, Hunter Burnheimer, Hughston Burnheimer, Billy Perry, Will Perry and Josh Perry.
