JAMES “JIM” CLARENCE RICH, JR.
On June 9, 2020, the Lord called James “Jim” Clarence Rich, Jr. to his heavenly home. Jim was 63 years old and a resident of South Pittsburg, TN. He was of the Baptist faith along with being a devoted and humble man to his Savior.
Jim served in the United States Navy until he received his Honorable Discharge in 1981. While in active duty Jim held the positions of a fire fighter, plumber and a welder. He was a licensed electrician which lead to his employments with Bryan’s Meat Company, Mohawk and Cardin’s Lumber Yard as a maintenance electrician before he retired.
He was known as a lovely and good man. Jim was a devoted husband to his wife, Brenda Rich for 40 years. He loved his children, four grandchildren, family and friends. Jim was never shy to helping those he loved in need and that was shown by the smile always on his face. He was also known as the “jack of all trades”. In his pastime he enjoyed Tennessee Volunteer Football and NASCAR Racing. After Jim’s passing, he was a donor to the American Donor’s Association.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James Clarence Rich, Sr. and Carrie Welch Rich.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Brenda Stewart Rich; son, Adam (Tonya) Rich; daughter, Lace (Demetric) Rich Fox; sister, Pam Baker, four grandchildren, Rayce Rich, Amellia , Abbigail and Alexander Fox; nephew, Brett Baker; great-nephew, Anthony Baker along with a loving extended family and special friends.
The family will have a Memorial Service on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 1:00 pm CDT at the South Pittsburg Church of Christ in South Pittsburg, TN with Pastor Ron Gilbert officiating.
Jim will be laid to rest at a later date at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.
