JAMES “J-BUCK” DAVID BROWN
James “J-Buck” David Brown, 87, of Chattanooga, Tennessee was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 19, 2025. James was born to the late Alvis Brown and Alma Rice Brown on December 26, 1937. He served in the United States Navy and was married to Mary Higdon Brown until her death. James attended Wauhatchie Methodist Church and the owner of Brown’s Amoco. James was an avid golfer, going on many golfing trips with his buddies. He loved reading and loved spending time with his family. James was a 32-degree Mason and a Shriner.
James is preceded in death by his father, Alvis Brown; mother, Alma Rice Brown; wife Mary Higdon Brown; brothers, William Buster Brown, W. C. Brown, and Robert Brown.
Left to cherish his memories are his Sons, Bill (Penny) Long, Michael Brown; daughters, Debbie (Jimmy) Welch, Dianne Payne, Whitney Stone; grandchildren, Melissa Spadone, Mindy Long, Miqui Viard, Cayci Norman, Hayley Brown, Bo Welch, Tara Brock, Bill Welch, Michael and Samuel Webb, Beth Stone, Tanner Stone, 15 great grandchildren, other family members and special friends.
The family will hold visitation on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 CT (3:00 to 5:00 ET) at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 4:00 pm CT (5:00 pm ET) at Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper, Tennessee with Pastor Tommy Messer officiating.
Military Honors will be presented by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
Pallbearers are Bo Welch, Bill Welch, Hayden Welch, Michael Webb, Samuel Webb and Tanner Stone.
