JAMES D. KINDRED

James D. Kindred, 72, of Whitwell, Tennessee was called home suddenly to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 11, 2023.  On August 7, 1951, he was born to the late Joseph L. Kindred and Martha Young Kindred.  He was married to Betty Slatton Kindred.  James was a member of Mineral Springs Church of God.  He worked for the Eureka Foundry as a Molder.  James loved everyone and loved helping people.  He had a big personality and loved cutting up with people, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

James is preceded in death by his father, Joseph L. Kindred; mother, Martha Young Kindred; wife, Patricia Kindred; daughters-in law, Teresa Ramsey, Susie Ramsey; brothers, William “Dub” Kindred, Joseph “Jay” Kindred, Ralph Kindred; sisters, Ruby Jackson, Lela Parker and Earline Kindred Wood.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Betty Slatton Kindred; sons, John David (Dana) Kindred, James Brian (Jean) Kindred, David (Terry) Bice, Jimmy (Cheryl) Bice, Wendell Ramsey, Anthony Ray (Pam) Ramsey, Darrell (Kim) Ramsey, Timothy Ramsey; daughter, Melissa (Karl) Sutton; brothers, Rayford (Judy) Kindred, Donnie Kindred; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm CST and on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.

Funeral services are on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 12:00 Noon CST in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee with Pastor Adam Ramsey officiating.

He will be laid to rest on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Stevenson, Alabama immediately following the funeral service.

Pallbearers are Wendell Ramsey, Tony Ramsey, Tim Ramsey, David Bice and Karl Sutton.
