JAMES B. GOHLMANN

At the age of 91 years old, James B. Gohlmann entered his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.  James had been a resident of Jasper, TN since 1992.  He was of the Catholic faith and a member of Our Lady of Lords in South Pittsburg, TN.  James was married to the late Patty Ann Blanchfield Gohlmann.   He was born on March 29, 1930, to the late Artemis and Ann Marie Schroeder Gohlmann. 

James had an amazing career during his lifetime.   James was an Airforce Veteran. He had worked at Midwest Research from 1954 to 1964 as an electrical engineer.  From 1964 to 1979, his electrical engineering continued as he became employed at WestClox in LaSalle, IL.     James finished his career at Variform as the plant engineer.   After he retired, James volunteered for various events such as a greeter at Grandview Hospital, involved with the boy scouts, working at the Marion County Food Pantry and God’s Camp.     He had also served on the Alzheimer’s Foundation as a dedicated volunteer on any fundraising events for Marion County, TN.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Patty Ann Blanchfield Gohlmann; Gloria Jean Sieleman Gohlmann; parents, Artemis and Ann Marie Schroeder Gohlmann; son, Stephen A. Gohlmann.

James leaves his years of memories to his sons, Mark (Julie) Gohlmann, Paul (Lucelle) Gohlmann and John Gohlmann; daughters, Cindy (Eddie) Griffen; Tammy (Faron) Tucker and Dawn (Sherwin) Hershberger; grandchildren, Leslie, Lana, Mark, Jr., Joshua, John, Jr., Freddie, Nena, Bobby, Kali, Paul, Jr., Stephen, Justin, Lucas and Amilynn; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

The family will have visitation on Monday, August 16, 2021, at 11:00 am to 2:30 pm CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN. 

The Mass Service will follow the visitation at 3:00 pm CST with Father Mark Scholz officiating at Our Lady of Lords in South Pittsburg, TN. 

James will be laid to rest at a later date in a private ceremony.
