JAMES A. COFFEY, SR.
James A. Coffey, Sr. 85, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 20, 2025. On December 22, 1939, James was born to the late Henry Coffey and Ida Cothron Coffey in Hollywood, Alabama. He was married to Easter Louise Glenn Coffey before her death. James was a member and served as a deacon of Primitive Baptist Church in South Pittsburg, Tennessee as well as a deacon at Shiloh in Hollywood, Alabama. James worked in Manufacturing for U. S. Stove Company. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and a long-time resident of South Pittsburg, Tennessee. James was a hardworking man and was well known as “Deputy Dog”.
James is preceded in death by his father, Henry Coffey; and mother, Ida Cothron Coffey; wife, Easter Louise Glenn Coffey; son, Fred Coffey; daughter, Mellisa Coffey; brother, Roy Coffey; sisters, Gracie Coffey, Gladys Robinson, Hattie Coffey, Marie McDonald, Ann Coffey; and grandson, Darius Coffey.
Left to cherish his memories are his sons, James Coffey, Paul Coffey; daughters, Dorothea Coffey, Melissa “Nicee” Coffey; grandchildren, Jermaine, Calvin, Lamar, Renee, Deanna, Brian, Amera, Jawon, Daequan, Marquis, Deizmond, Ashle`, DeMarius, Tykerion, Demiyah, Zay; a host of great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews other family members and special friends.
Visitation is Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.
Funeral services are on Sunday April 27, 2025, at 2:00 pm CST in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee with Minister George Green and Minister Paul Robinson officiating.
James will be laid to rest on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Cumberland View Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
