JACK L. SIMMONS, 71, of Jasper, Tennessee, passed away on January 8, 2022. He was born on December 31, 1950, to Sam H. Simmons and Reba Rice Simmons. Jack was a long-time jeweler and local business owner of Simmons Jewelry for thirty-eight years. He loved gardening, fishing, and working on DIY projects. Jack enjoyed his customers and took great pride in his work. Most of all, Jack loved his family greatly, especially his wife and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Simmons and Reba Rice Simmons; brother, Willie Everett Simmons; sisters, Evelyn Cato, Sylvia Fry, and Millie Bitzel.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of fifty-one years, Larinda Simmons; sons, Jeff Simmons, and Joe (Patch) Simmons; daughters, Lori (Jeff) Rawlins, Shelly (Steve) Kirk, and Becky (Jason) Murr; brothers, Sam H. (Pat) Simmons, Jr., David (Helen) Simmons, and Louis (Alice) Simmons; sisters, Louise Kincaid, and Treva (Bob) Mabbitt; grandchildren, Corey Kirk, Alexis Kirk, Jade Simmons, Austin Rawlins, Aidan Rawlins, Jackson Simmons and Emily Murr; several nieces and nephews.
The family will have visitation on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm CST. Also on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm CST. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at 2:00 pm CST in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home with Pastor Wanda Rawlins officiating the service. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper, TN.
Pallbearers are Corey Kirk, Austin Rawlins, Aidan Rawlins, Jackson Simmons, Michael Griffith, and Jacob Kintner. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Kintner, Matt Simmons, Butch Cato, Tony Bitzel, and Jason Kintner.
The family would like to thank the nurses of Hospice of Chattanooga West, Janie Reeves, Darlene Griffith, Judy Griffith, and Whitney Shelton. Thank you for your care and compassion during his illness.
