HUGH EDWARD PAYNE

Hugh Edward Payne, 80, of Sequatchie, Tennessee was called home on Monday, May 30, 2022.  Those who knew Hugh Payne will remember him by his many different stories he shared.  He enjoyed his time with family and sitting on his front porch waiting for friends and family to blow their horns at him.  Hugh was well known for his Red Man, Dr. Pepper and his sweet tooth.  His calm nature and peaceful attitude will be greatly missed by his family.

Hugh was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Payne; mother and stepfather, Irene (Dan) Dixon; sister; Patsy Mae (Payne) Newsom.

Those left to cherish his memory are sons, James A. Payne, Joe E. (Angie) Payne, Sr. and Robert D. Payne.   His grandchildren are Adam Payne and Joe E. Payne, Jr.; nieces and nephews are  Dianne (Newsom) Slatton, Ricky (Sandra) Newsom, Wayne Newsom, Anthony Newsom, Brad Newsom, Ramona (Eric) Borne, Dakota and Troy Payne; several great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews and great God children, Eli Thacker, Ethan Thacker, and Eian Thacker.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm CST and Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. CST at Tate Funeral Home, Jasper, TN. 

Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 2, 2022 in the Chapel at Tate Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. CST, with Brother Mark Hammond officiating.

Pallbearers are Eli Thacker, Josh Thacker, Bubba Newsom, Elbert Gore, James Watson, Dakota Payne, and Wayne Payne.
