HOWARD LEE STATEN
Howard Lee Staten, 42, a beloved son and brother of Guild, Tennessee Community, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, in his home surrounded by loved ones. Howard was such an accomplished man who was talented beyond measure. He was a scholar who was very personable. He was known by many in the Marion County area as an on/off air personality for the local radio/tv station WEPG for many years. Afterwards, life directed him to become a Dr’s. Assistant and Optician’s Apprentice for Eyear Optical. He was also a proud member of Guild First Baptist Church and was a graduate of Marion County High School. His personality was incredibly far-reaching and infectious. He would light up a room with his cheshire smile, euphoric laughter, and boisterous spirit. He would always look, not only for the good but the God in people. Howard was proud to be filled with a strong faith and an unwavering love for God and his fellow men/women. Every person who met him knew they were making, or about to make a new friend. He always had a kind word, a loving heart, open mind, a listening ear and a supportive shoulder for anyone who needed it.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Dennis and Dian Dowler, also, Carrie Dowler; uncle, Dennis Dowler, Jr.; and stepfather, Christopher Allan.
Howard is survived by mother and father, Debra and Steve Staten, also, stepmom, Regina Staten; twin brother, and brother-in-law, Steven Staten and Landon Wiley Jr.; sister, Autumn Stacy; grandparents, Emily and John Teeuwissen, also, Dick and Ruth Staten; uncles, Phil Staten, also, Jason Shook; aunts, Liz Dowler, Danita Dowler Sharp, Keri Yoho, Angie Yoho Robertson, Rachel Stewart Staten, Rachel Bolyard-Staten, Teresa Capers and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
