FRED LESLIE BOREN

 

The Lord called Fred Leslie Boren, 92, to his heavenly home on Sunday, August 29, 2021.  Fred was born on September 6, 1928, to the late Lee Boren and Ida Davis Boren.   He moved to Jackson County, AL in 1970 where he and his wife, Shirley Culpepper Boren made their home, raised their family and were pillars of their community.     Fred had served in the United States Army from March 25, 1952 to December 24, 1953, as a Sergeant.   Fred had been employed at Dixie Yarns as a textile employee for numerous years before his retirement.

 

Fred was of the Free Holiness faith and a member of the Forest Hill Holiness Church.   He loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews very much.   Fred was proud to serve in the Korean War and was honored with numerous medals from his accomplished career while serving in the United States Army.   During his pastime, Fred loved to ride horses.  

 

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Culpepper Boren; parents, Lee Boren and Ida Davis Boren; son, Olen Jeffrey Roberts; brother, Pleasant, Everett, and Alton Boren; sisters, Mary Patrick and Beulah Sweeton and great-granddaughter, Morgan Leigh Jones and great-great-grandson, Liam Olen Young.

 

Fred leaves 92 years of memories to his daughters, Karen (John) Wooten, Sandra (Robert) Gothard and Donna Roberts; grandchildren, Sheri (Clint) Cardin, Travis (Amanda) Jones, Mandy (Nathan) Ables, Lamar Young, Gina (Justin) Aichele, Dylan (Emily) Stewart and Kyle Stewart; sixteen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Joann Clark, Lavonda Fredrick, Diane Patton, E.H. Sweeton, James Boren, Ronnie Boren, Jimmy Sweeton and Larry Boren.

 

WITH THIS BEING A PUBLIC VISITATION AND FUNERAL SERVICE, MASK WILL BE MANDATORY PER COVID REGULATIONS WHETHER YOU HAVE UNDERLYING ISSUES OR NOT. 

 

The family will have visitation on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.

 

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Garden in Jasper, TN with Pastor Bradley Wooten officiating along with Military Honors Ceremony conducted by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
