FRANCES “FRAN” LOFTY THOMAS

Frances “Fran” Lofty Thomas, departed this life on Mother’s Day Sunday, May 10, 2020.      She was born on March 6, 1930 and she entered the gates of heaven at the age of 90 years old.  Ms. Thomas was the widow of the late J.C. (Jake) Thomas. 

Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by husband along with her son, Larry W. Thomas; mother, Lucille Lofty; father, Robert Lofty; sister, Laura Crandell and a special grandmother, Dora Janeway. 

She is survived by her son, Terry K. Thomas of Jasper, TN; granddaughter, Nichole (Chris) Ridge of Chattanooga, TN; grandson, Will (Amy) Thomas of Pelzer, SC and T.K. Thomas, Jr. of California; great-grandchildren, William and Emily Thomas of Pelzer, SC and Aby Thomas, of Missouri.

Ms. Thomas was a member of the Kimball Baptist Church in Kimball, TN where she served as Assistant Teacher of Gleaner Sunday School Class. 

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother along with being a cherished friend to all that shared her life.    She will truly be missed by her family and friends. 

She was past Worthy Matron of Jasper Chapter #124 Order of the Eastern Star.  Also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Jasper VFW.   She retired from Red Food Store in South Pittsburg, TN.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Hospice Care Center in Chattanooga, TN. 

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. CDT at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, TN with Pastor Ronnie Case officiating.

Pallbearers will be the Deacons of the Kimball Baptist Church which will be Ken Samples, Karl Mount, Ernie Harris, Eli Blevins, Dean Cartwright and Johnny Matthews and Honorary Pallbearers being the members of the Gleaner Sunday School Class.
