FORD “TOMMY” THOMAS OWENS
Ford “Tommy” Thomas Owens passed away at home early Saturday morning, September 4, 2021. Tommy was 85 years old and was a charter member and deacon of Guild First Baptist Church for 55 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ford and Alma Owens; a daughter, Velda Lea Owens; grandson, Jason Ford Owens; and sister, Jennie Hines.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Martha (Marty) Allan Owens and five children; Thomas Bruce (Pamela) Owens, Jack Clinton Owens, Marilyn Ruth Owens, Russell (Rusty) Ford Owens (Jacque) and Sheryl (Sheri) Beagles Owens. Several grandchildren & great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Kisselburg; brother, David Owens and many nieces and nephews.
Tommy was inducted into the Merle Travis Thumb-picker’s Hall of Fame in 2003 in Muhlenberg Co., KY.
Interment and graveside service will be held at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Cemetery in Jasper, TN on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm CST with Pastor Ronnie M. Smith officiating
Pallbearers will be Ryan Owens, Josh Owens, John Bell, Steve Kisselburg, Garrett Owens and Sean Hudson. Honorary Pallbearers are Allen Bell (Camille) and Brett Owens (Makala).
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Guild First Baptist Church at PO Box 246, Guild, TN 37340.
