EUNICE RAE PEARDON

Eunice Rae “Euni” Peardon, 90, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Born on October 27, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the beloved daughter of Arthur Strauss and Rose Miseles Strauss.  Euni dedicated her life to serving others. She worked for Sethra and spent 30 years as the Manager for Meals on Wheels, where she poured her heart into caring for the elderly in her community. She coordinated bingo, activities, and countless moments of joy for those she served. Her compassion was steady, genuine, and deeply felt by everyone who knew her.  A devoted member of the Bible Church of God in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, Euni’s faith was the foundation of her life. She was passionate about attending church and cherished the fellowship she found there.  Euni was married to the late John Peardon, with whom she shared many years of love and partnership.  She was known for her warm spirit, her love of cooking, especially her famous lasagna, pot roast, and strawberry cake, and her daily walks, during which she never failed to bring treats for every dog along her path. Her kindness extended to all creatures, great and small.  Euni’s legacy is one of service, faith, and love. She will be remembered for her gentle heart, her joyful presence, and the countless lives she touched.

Euni is preceded in death by her father, Arthur Strauss; mother, Rose Miseles Strauss; husbands, John Turner, Robert Baugh, John Peardon; and great granddaughter, Skylar Smith.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, John (Heather) Turner, Daniel S. Turner, Sr., brother, Michael (Jo) Strauss; grandchildren, Dominee Hambling, Krista (Charles) Danielle Ownby, Samantha Jo Turner, Daniel S. Turner, Jr., Joshua Garett Turner, Katie Nicole Bell;  great grandchildren, Rileigh Ownby, Gage Ownby, Lia Ownby, RubyKate Ownby, Samuel Ownby, Ashton Smith, Taytum Edwards, Miley Pyburn; great-great granddaughter, Charlotte Ownby; nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Visitation is on Wednesday July 1, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm CST and on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 pm CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.

Funeral services are on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 2:00 pm CST in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee with Pastor Vernon Coffman officiating.

Euni will be laid to rest on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tennessee immediately following the funeral service.

Pallbearers are Charles Ownby, Josh Turner, Daniel Turner, Jr., John Turner, Daniel Turner, Sr., and Gage Ownby.
