Ernestine "Tine" (Turner) Slatton

ERNESTINE TURNER SLATTON

Ernestine Turner Slatton, 87, was called home on Friday, July 22, 2022.  She was a resident of Jasper, Tennessee and a member of the Jasper Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  She was married to Coleman Slatton for 49 years.  On February 13, 1935, Tine was born to the late Ernest Turner and Louise Ballard Turner.  She worked for Provident for many years and left to raise her girls.  She worked at Walmart once they were raised.  She was a loving mother and loved working in her garden, canning the fruits of her labor.  She loved to cook for all of the neighborhood kids.

Tine is preceded in death by her father; Ernest Turner, mother; Louise Ballard Turner, sister; Barbara Jo Watts and brother; Robert “Bobby” Turner.

She leaves her precious memories to her husband; Coleman Slatton, daughters; Tiffany (Charles) Jenkins, Jr., Tammy (Pete) Merz, Carla (Shannon) Andregg. Grandchildren; Tyler Reed, SGT Pierson (Amber) Merz, Chase (Alaina) Merrell, 2LT Charles Jenkins, III, Corbin Merrell, Hailey (Ethan) Phillips, Gracey Andregg  Great-Grandchildren, Eli and Aevah Merz.

The family will have visitation on Saturday, July 23, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm CST and Sunday, July 24, 2022, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm CST.

Funeral services will be in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at 2:00 pm CST with Chaplain Jerry Stewart officiating.

Burial will be at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tennessee.

Pallbearers are Steve Patterson, Dennis Showalter, Hunter Andregg, Bill Raulston, Paul West, and Davin Johnson.
