ELLIS O`NEAL LANG

Ellis O’Neal Lang, 74, of Jasper, Tennessee, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Born on April 20, 1951, in Russellville, Alabama, Ellis was the son of Elmer Clyde Lang and Ola Mae Mitchell Lang, who instilled in him the values of faith, family, and hard work that shaped his life.  He worked for TVA as a Unit Operator.  Ellis shared 31 total devoted years of marriage with his wife, Deborah Barrett Lang, and together they built a life grounded in love, resilience, and deep commitment to family. He was a proud member of Jasper First Baptist Church, where his faith remained a steady foundation throughout his life.  A man of adventure and creativity, Ellis had a passion for the open road. He loved his Harley and traveled to 48 states on his bike, collecting memories, stories, and friendships along the way. At home, he found joy in woodworking, most notably a cherished bookcase he built for “the girls.” He also loved the quiet peace of fishing, a pastime that brought him both rest and reflection.  Family was at the heart of everything Ellis did. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren and took great pride in making his home fully adaptable for Brenna’s needs. His creativity, resourcefulness, and willingness to help others were defining trait, Ellis was the kind of man who could find a solution to any problem and would gladly lend a hand to anyone who needed one.  His loyal dogs, Hoot Owl and Maverick Buc, were constant companions who brought him joy and comfort.  Ellis will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, skilled craftsman, and a man whose kindness and ingenuity touched countless lives. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friends he helped, and the many ways he made the world around him better.
