ELEANOR KATE JANEWAY

 

Eleanor Kate Janeway, 86, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 19, 2023. Eleanor was born to the late Frank Joseph Warren and Eula Hughes Warren on September 2, 1936. She had been married for almost sixty-five years to Arnold Richard Janeway. She became a Christian when she was thirteen years old. Eleanor was one of eleven brothers and sisters. She had known her husband Arnold from first grade, and they moved to Atlanta in 1965, where she lived a total of thirty years. She worked at DeKalb Medical Center for twelve or so years and retired as an Administrative Assistant in Atlanta. Eleanor was a member of Glenhaven Baptist Church.  She returned home to Chattanooga in 1995 and was an active member of Valley Memorial Baptist Church. She was a good seamstress, she loved food, but more importantly loved spending time with family, children and grandchildren.

 

Eleanor is preceded in death by her father, Frank Joseph Warren; mother, Eula Hughes Warren; husband, Arnold Richard Janeway; brothers, Casey Warren, Sherman Warren, Wilburn Warren; sisters, Macy Waldrop, Veda Guthrie, Ida Gothard and Annie Bell Warren.

 

She leaves her memories to her sons, Doug (Marie) Janeway, Barry (Denise) Janeway; sisters, Phyllis Britton, Barbara (Paul) West; grandchildren, Courtney Janeway (Joel Peters), Christina Janeway (Caleb) Cook, Clay Alexander (Hailey) Janeway, Nathan Douglas (Elizabeth) Janeway, Jonathan Daniel Janeway (Victoria Anne Stamey); Great-grandchildren, Chloe Annabelle Cook, Emme Kate Peters, Tucker Brendan Peters along with several nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation is Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm CST and on Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper Tennessee.

 

Funeral Services will be on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at 1:00 pm CST in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee with Reverend Steve Perkins officiating.

 

Burial will be at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tennessee immediately following the funeral service.

 

Pallbearers are Joel Peters, Caleb Cook, Nathan Janeway, Daniel Janeway, Clay Janeway, Hal Janeway, Travis Janeway.  Honorary pallbearer Bryan Wicks.
