ELDER MILES L. BIVINS

Elder Miles L. Bivins, 67, made his entrance to the heavenly gates on Monday, December 28, 2020.   Miles was from Stevenson, AL where he lived with his wife, Helen Cross Bivins.  Miles was the man most knew him by his nickname “Beater”.     He was employed at U.S. Pipe as a machinist.   He pastored at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Victoria, TN and Little Hurricane Primitive Baptist Church in Manchester, TN along with being a faithful member of Thompson Station Church in Franklin, TN.  Miles was born on January 26, 1953 to Herman and Pearl Bivins. 

Miles was a family man.  He loved each of them dearly as well as loving his Lord Jesus Christ.   If you ever met Miles, you were never a stranger and you had a friend for life.   During his pastime he enjoyed visiting family and friends along with singing.    His hobbies included cars and motorcycles.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Pearl Virginia Yarber Bivins; daughter, Hope Charity Bivins; brother, Herman Bivins and sister, Edna Owens.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Helen Cross Bivins and sisters, Virginia (Larry) Owens, Charlene (Issiah) Cherry, Gloria (Willie) Johnson, Debra Sanders and Denise(Alfonzo) Townsend along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will have visitation on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.

There will be a graveside service held at McWilliams Cemetery in Whitwell, TN following the visitation at 1:30 pm ct with Elder Ralph Moore officiating.
