DEBORAH “DEBBIE” MAE TATE CALLAN

Deborah “Debbie” Mae Tate Callan, 71, of Whitwell, Tennessee was called to be with her Lord and Savior on May 3, 2024.  She was born in Whitwell, Tennessee on January 26, 1953, to J. C. and Stella Tate.  Debbie will be remembered for her love of music, cooking, nature, reading, and people.  She was truly the life of every party, as well as a force to be reckoned with.

Debbie is preceded in death by her father, Reverend J. C. Tate; brother, John Scott Tate; sisters, Joan Claudia Tate and Mary Tate Raines.

She is survived by her mother, Stella Bryant Tate Roberts; daughter, Dr. Madonna Fajardo Kemp; son, Matthew Callan; life partner, Bill Braziel; brother, Bruce Tate (Jenell McCord); grandchildren, Angel Callan (Tim) Bryant, Victoria Callan, Matthew Callan Jr., Petty Officer 2nd Class John Fajardo, Emily Kemp; great-grandchildren, Ian Mae Bryant, Timothy Bryant, and Jessica Bryant; dog, Thor.

Visitation is Friday, May 10, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm CST and on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 10:00 to 12:00 Noon CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.

Funeral services are Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 12:00 Noon CST in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee with Pastor George Bryant officiating.

Debbie will be laid to rest on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tennessee immediately following the funeral service.

Pallbearers are John Scott Fajardo, Tim Bryant, Timothy Bryant, Jr., Ian Bryant, Robert Cooksey and Stephen Cooksey.
