CLOIS RAY “C. J.” AVANS, JR.

Clois Ray “C. J.” Avans, Jr. 32, of Bridgeport, Alabama, departed this life on October 9, 2022.  He was born to Clois Ray Avans, Sr. and Sandra Pilgrim Ramsey on February 28, 1990.  C. J. enjoyed football, baseball, playing darts, spending time with his children and family, and loved all music.

C. J. is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Johnny G. Avans, John D. Anthony; uncles, Thomas Wilson, Johnny Avans; Aunt, Carol Avans; and niece Aceleen Barajas.

He leaves his memories to his father, Clois Ray Avans, Sr.; mother, Sandy (Scott) Ramsey; grandparents, Vernie Anthony, Marie Anette Avans; daughters, Serenity Avans, Zoei Avans, McKenzie Avans; sisters, Summer (David Morales) Avans, Amanda Pilgrim; uncle, Randall (Amy) Pilgrim; aunts, Karen (Danny) Phillips, Angie (Mack) Wileman, Crystal (Tracy) Phillips; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm CST and on Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm CST at Tate Funeral Home, LLC in Jasper, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 1:00 pm CST in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee with Pastor Adam Ramsey officiating.

Burial will be on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 1:00 pm CST at Bonnaventure Cemetery in Bridgeport, Alabama immediately following the funeral service.

Pallbearers are David Morales, David Hawkins, Justin CherKoiam, Scott Ramsey, Tracy Phillips and honorary pallbearer, Michael Kemp.
