Clarence "Johnny" V Sisk, Sr.

After dreaming to go to his eternal home for many years, the Lord took the strong hands of "Johnny" Sisk, Sr., 85, to lead him to his heavenly home on Sunday, October 17, 2021.  He was known by everyone and was a resident of Jasper, TN.  He was born on March 24, 1936.

Johnny had served in the United States Army.  He had been employed at Wheland Foundry for 30 years.  After retiring he had worked for Bi Lo Grocery and Kirkland Grocery.  Johnny was of the Church of God Faith and a member of the Refuge Church of God in Kimball, TN.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #632 and Olive Branch Lodge #297.

Johnny was a very simple man that loved his family and friends.  He was always a hard worker by working numerous jobs to provide for his family.  During Johnny's past time, he loved gardening, tinkering outside, enjoying the outdoors but most of all, always keeping his strong hands busy.  He was a man that loved to socialize with his family and friends.  One special gift that Johnny had, was greeting anyone with a beautiful big smile.  He loved sitting and chatting about life.  Johnny has left a legend of love, kindness, years of memories and love to all that knew him.  He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Geraldine Lyle Sisk; parents, Joe and Myrtle Sisk; son, Randy Sisk; son-in-law, Barry Shirley; grandsons, J.D. Sisk and twins, Landon and Brandon Shirley; brothers, Joe Sisk, Jr. and James Sisk; and sister, Dorothy Hoback.

Johnny leaves his years of beautiful memories to his sons, Johnny (Sherri) Sisk and Jackie Sisk; daughter, Jan Sisk Shirley; grandchildren, Ashley (James) Keeler, Derek (Molly) Sisk, Darcy (Jeff) Warrick and Tyler (Jessica) Shirley; eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Evans and Beulah Holcomb along with several nieces, nephews and years of friends.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and CNA's of Valley View Assisted Living, Whitwell, TN for the true love of their dad, the kindness given to him and most of all leaning on Johnny when they had a bad day.  The love will never be forgotten.  

The family will have visitation on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm CST.  A Masonic Ceremony will be conducted at 7:00 pm CST.  Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm CST.  

The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 2:00 pm CST with Pastor Doyle Chamblee officiating.  Interment will follow the funeral service at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN  with a Military Ceremony conducted by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
