CHARLES WAYNE PEOPLES
The Lord said its time to come to your heavenly home Charles Wayne Peoples, 62 yrs. old, on Monday, January 4, 2021 after a lengthy illness. Wayne, as he was known by all, lived in Whitwell, TN with his wife, Diane Richardson Peoples. He was born on January 11, 1958 to his parents, Charlie and Estelle Peoples where he was raised in Kimball, TN. Wayne was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in New Hope, TN. He had been employed with the Tennessee Department of Transportation as the highway maintenance operator. He spent several years as a volunteer fireman and police officer in Kimball, TN.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Estelle Hookey Peoples, brother, Bobby Ray Peoples and mother-in-law, Evelyn Richardson.
Those left to cherish Wayne’s wonderful memories are his wife of 37 years, Diane Richardson Peoples; son, David (Alisha) Peoples; daughter, Kendra Swafford; father-in-law, Doodle Richardson; grandchildren, Paisley and Waylon Swafford and Gabriel Peoples along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
Wayne loved being with his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed mowing and each yard “had to be perfect”! His hobby was playing cards and cheating on everyone with great humor. His love for his Lord was astonishing along with listening to church services on Sunday mornings. Wayne was also known for having a “nickname” for anyone that knew him. Wayne was a loving, loyal and honest man that so many will miss.
The family will have visitation on Thursday, January 7th, 2021 from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm CT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.
There will be a graveside service on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm CT at New Hope Cemetery, Pine Grove Road, New Hope, TN with Pastor Joe Moore officiating.
