Carol Jeanette (Meeks) Rooks

Carol Jeanette Meeks Rooks departed this world on Saturday, March 23, 2019.  Her heart longed to go to be with her departed soulmate, William B. Rooks; her daughter, Pamela Anne Rooks, and her parents John and Elizabeth Meeks.  We know they were waiting with open arms.

Carol led an amazing life.  She graduated from Bridgeport High School and joined the Army upon graduation.  She was sent to Colorado where she worked as a medic at Fitzsimmons Hospital.    Carol treated the injured from the Vietnam War. 

She married her husband Bill, while in Colorado.  When he got out of the Army, they moved back to Bridgeport with their baby daughter, Pam.  

Carol earned her nursing licenses and later her Pharmaceutical tech licenses from J.F. Drake College in Huntsville, AL.  She worked at North Jackson Hospital in Bridgeport, Highlands in Scottsboro and later retired from Cumberland Hospital.

Carol left behind the lights of her life her son and daughter in law, William (Billy) Rooks and Michelle Rooks along with grandchildren James Rooks and Sophie Parsons.  Also left to treasure her memories were her siblings, Annie (Rick) Gibbons, Brenda (Harold) Nunnally, John (Fran) Meeks, George (Linda) Meeks, David (Teresa) Meeks, Elizabeth (Jeffery) Mount and adopted sister Kandy Veller.  She was adored by many nieces and nephews.

Carol will be laid to a long awaited rest between her husband, Bill and daughter, Pam at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tennessee.

Her visitation will be on Tuesday, March 26th, 2019 at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm CDT and Wednesday, March 27th from 2:30 pm to 4:30 CDT.

Services will be conducted at Tate Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 27th, 2019 at 4:30 pm CDT/5:30 pm EDT with John Mount and Pastor Barry Myers officiating.

Pallbearers will be her nephews; John Bradley Mount, David Meeks II, Drew Meeks, Jackson Litz, Harry Litz, Cain Pitchford and Garry Taylor and Honorary Pallbearer, Brian LeRoy.
