Bradley "Junior" Mount, Jr. Obituary

BRADLEY “JUNIOR” MOUNT, JR.

Bradley “Junior” Mount, Jr., 86, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021.  Junior, as he was known by all, was a resident of Kimball, TN and was a member of the Jasper Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was born in Orme, TN and lived much of his life as a proud member of the community.

Born on July 24, 1934 to Jessie Louise Hawkins Mount. Junior was raised by his mother and beloved Aunt, Maggie Hawkins. Junior began his working life at a young age in the local coal mines. As an adult, Junior volunteered to serve his nation and was a member of the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea. After returning home, Junior continued to work in the local mines, eventually operating his own small mine. Junior was also a part of the team that helped build and construct many of the facilities on Raccoon Mountain and even dabbled as a moonshine distiller. Above all else, Junior was known for his ownership in Mounts Stone and the breathtaking works of art, he and his family crafted from stone throughout the region. Junior worked as a mason almost every day well into his 86th year and final year of life.

Known throughout his life for his strong work ethic and commitment to making sure every job was completed to the highest standard, Junior also applied his strength and dedication to his family. Junior met the love of his life when he was only nineteen years old. Junior and his wife, Annie Bell Mount, raised six amazing children together.  Never apart, they were married until her passing. He has left behind a legacy of love, compassion and a commitment to making the world and those around him better each day by the example of hard work and dedication he exemplified.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bradley Mount, Sr. and Jessie Louise Miller Mount; wife, Annie Bell Mount; son, James Ake; daughter, Francis Ake and sister, Addie Sue Mount.

Junior leaves years of love and memories to his sons, Edward (Violet) Ake; Dennis (Lynn) Mount, Carl (Wanda) Mount and Jeffery (Elizabeth) Mount; brother, Harold (Janice) Mount; daughter-in-law, Diane Ake; twelve grandchildren: Pamela Bennett, Michelle Taylor, Rene White, Derick Dawson, James Michael Ake, Kelly Burroughs, Dana Cruz, Melisha Martin, Angie Hamilton, Jeanetta Hambrick, Faith Barnes and John Bradley Mount, as well as a host of great-grandchildren nieces, nephews and special friends.
