BETTY LOU LAYNE

At the end of the evening on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, the Lord placed the beautiful hand of Betty Lou Layne in His hand to lead her to her forever heavenly home.    Betty was 82 years old and a lifelong resident of Jasper, TN.   She was born on November 20, 1939 to the late Basil Davis and Myrtle Dishroom Davis.   Betty was married to the late Junior F. Layne. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Junior F. Layne; parents, Basil Davis and Myrtle Dishroom Davis; brothers, Marvin Davis and Grady Davis and daughter-in-law, Patricia Layne.

Betty leaves her beautiful memories to her sons, Tom Layne, Melvin (Pam) Layne and Darrell (Amy) Layne; sister, Barbara Jean; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren along with a host of lifetime friends.

Betty was known for the special love she had for her three sons and eleven grandchildren.   She loved to cook, clipping recipes and collecting angels.   Betty loved watching the Atlanta Braves, HGTV, watching her soap operas and the Price is Right.   In her spare time, she enjoyed working on DIY projects.

The family will have visitation on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm CT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.  

Graveside service will be held at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens, Jasper, TN following the visitation at 3:15 pm CT with Pastor Greg Hamman officiating.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Layne, Andrew Matthieson, Austin Layne, Bubba Ramsey, Brent Layne and Scotty Layne.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to Amedysis Hospice for the care provided to their mom.
