On the morning of Saturday March 14th, Betty C Hammon moved on to her final home in heaven with Jesus. Betty was from Haletown, Tennesse. She retired from South Central Bell after 34 years of service and was a member of Stevens Gap Church of Christ in Crossville, Tennessee.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband Roy Joseph Cowan; parents, Willard C. Lester and Gypsy Adams; daughter Judith Elaine Cowan; and brother, Brewer Lester Adams.
Those to cherish her memories are her husband, Robert Lee Hammon; daughter, Kay Pilkay (Richard); sister, Susan Rebecca Nash; granddaughters, Emily Elizabeth Hamby (Adam) and Rachel Catherine Aaser (Doug); along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will have visitation on Wednesday, March 18th 2020 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM CDT/10:30 AM to 12:00 noon EDT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at Chapel of Tate Funeral Home following the visitation on Wednesday at 11:00 AM CDT/12:00 noon EDT with Minister Thom Hassler officiating.
Betty will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery, 1954 Greenwood Road, in Chattanooga, Tennessee at 1:30 PM CDT/2:30 PM EDT.
