Barbara "Jean" Sutton Shadrick

BARBARA JEAN SUTTON SHADRICK

At the dawn of the morning on Saturday, September 5, 2020, the Lord called Barbara Jean Sutton Shadrick, at the age of 84 years old, to her heavenly home.  Jean was born on October 28, 1935 to Luther and Hettie Sutton.  She was a lifetime resident of Sequatchie, TN where she lived with her husband, Lloyd Shadrick. 

Jean was a devoted and dedicated wife to Lloyd, a loving mother-figure to Joyce Hudson and a special friend to all that crossed her path.   She enjoyed her life as serving her Lord, being a housewife, cooking, baking, gardening and loved her time with her dogs.   Jean was a member of Ebenezer Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  Her favorite Bible verse was John 14:6, Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Luther Edward Sutton and Hettie Bradford Sutton; brother, Luther “Buddy” Sutton and sister, Josephine Hardy.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 67 years, Melvin Lloyd Shadrick; foster daughter, Joyce (Carl) Hudson and their children, Kevin Hudson and Mandy Cloy and grandchildren, Hannah Cloy and Jackson Cloy, special niece, Carol Renfro; special nephew, Mike Hardy along with a host of family members and special friends.

The family will have a graveside service on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. CST at Sardis Cemetery in Victoria, TN with Reverend Phillip Layne officiating.
