BARBARA JO WATTS

Barbara Jo Watts, 91 was called to her Heavenly home on Friday, July 15, 2022.  Barbara was a resident of Jasper Tennessee, a member of First Baptist Church of Jasper.  She was married to Wayne Watts for 70 years. On May 10, 1931, Barbara was born to the late Ernest Turner and Louise Ballard Turner.  She was a Chief Deputy for the Circuit Court Clerk of Marion County Tennessee for 30 years.  Barbara was an avid reader, loved traveling all over the country, loved to cook Sunday dinners for the family and for the holidays, above all she loved spending time with her family.

Barbara is preceded in death by her father; Ernest Turner, mother; Louise Ballard Turner and brother Robert “Bobby” Turner.

She leaves her precious memories to her husband; Wayne Watts, son; Tim Watts, daughter; Sheila Puryear and sister; Tine (Coleman) Slatton Grandchildren; Christopher (Marshiela) Payne, Dr. Charles Puryear (Julie) and six Great-Grandchildren.

The family will hold visitation on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.

There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 2:00 pm, following the visitation, at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tennessee with Roger Webb.

Pallbearers are Chris Payne, Pete Merz, Randy Jordan, Don Brown and Dennis Phillips and Jeff Buchanan.

Special thanks to Memorial Hospital staff in the CCU unit and Hospice of Chattanooga for the wonderful care given to Ms. Barbara during her illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Saint Jude.
